| When I first saw Luke I didn't think he was the boy I had come to see. He was in the room with two other boys. He made the other two boys look like zombies because he was so animated. Someone turned music on and Luke began to dance. He smiled almost the whole time I was there. I was so surprised when they identified him as the little boy I had come to see. He won my heart instantly, even before he let me tickle his neck with lots of kisses. :o) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The Second Day: Showing Me How Smart He Was | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Luke didn't speak at all when we met. The second day when I went to see him again they took us to a room and we were able to play for two hours. In Russian when a child hides they say "Coo-Coo" to get them to come out. When Luke would emerge from behind these cabinets I would say, "Boo!" He would laugh so hard. Then he started coming out and trying to say "Boo," on his own. It came out more like a small rasberry, but it was so sweet and showed how quickly he could pick up on things. :o) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Our translator, Tatyana, was very nice and was able to translate to Luke that I was his Mommy. The mirror in Luke's hand was his favorite of all the toys I brought. He would get up on my lap and look into it and laugh when I would lean over and appear in the mirror beside him. It was magic!! :o) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Probably the hardest thing I had to do was say Good-by to my precious Luke. He has no idea that we are coming back for him. It has been so long, he probably doesn't even remember me. I know that soon the wait will be over and we will be with our new son and be able to bring him home to forever be a part of our familiy. :o) Mommy loves you Luke :o) |
